Chicago Runs on Trucks. We Keep Them Running.
Chicago is one of the largest freight hubs in the country. The rail yards, the intermodal terminals, the distribution centers south of the city and out in the western suburbs, the construction projects that never seem to end. All of it moves on trucks. And when one of those trucks breaks down on the Dan Ryan, at a dock in Bedford Park, or in a yard in Cicero, it needs to be fixed where it is, not towed through Chicago traffic to a shop.
Our mobile truck mechanics bring OEM diagnostic tools, common parts, and the equipment to handle serious commercial truck repair at your location. We work on Class 6 through Class 8 trucks and trailers exclusively. No cars, no light duty. Just commercial vehicles.

Midwest Winters Are the Real Test

Every mobile truck service can handle a brake job in June. January is different. Fuel gelling when temperatures drop below zero. DEF lines freezing at 12 degrees. Batteries that were marginal in fall dying in the first real cold snap. Air brake systems freezing up from moisture in the lines. These are winter specific problems that Chicago trucks deal with every year, and they all need to be fixed outside, in the cold, wherever the truck stopped moving.
We carry winter specific supplies: fuel filter replacements, anti-gel treatment, DEF system components, batteries, air line antifreeze, and air dryer cartridges. When a truck is stuck at a dock on the South Side at 5 AM in January because the fuel gelled overnight, we can get it running.
What We Fix
Engine and Turbo System Repair. Factory diagnostics for Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, International, Volvo. DPF, turbo, fuel system, EGR, starting and charging. Complete on-site engine diagnosis with the same software dealerships use.
DOT Brake Inspection and Repair. Adjustment, shoe and drum replacement, chamber repair, slack adjusters, ABS diagnostics, air system testing. Illinois State Police commercial enforcement is active on every expressway.
Cooling and heating. Overheating in summer traffic, heater core failures in winter. Both are urgent in their own way. A truck with no heat in a Chicago winter is a truck that is not safe to drive.
Trailer repair. Intermodal containers, dry vans, flatbeds, reefers. Suspension, doors, landing gear, lighting, refrigeration units. The intermodal chassis coming through Chicago rail yards need constant attention.
Tire service. Roadside and yard tire mounting, flat repair, replacement. Pothole season in Chicago starts early and destroys tires and wheels.
Electrical. Road salt corrodes every exposed electrical connection on a truck. Starting system failures, lighting problems, and intermittent faults from corroded connectors are constant in this market.
Fleet maintenance. Scheduled PM at your yard or terminal. Regular inspections catch the problems that are building up before they strand a truck on the Stevenson at rush hour.

Road Salt Destroys Everything
This is worth its own section because it affects every system on the truck. Illinois uses enormous amounts of road salt from November through March, and that salt gets onto every surface of every truck operating in the Chicago area. Brake hardware corrodes faster. Electrical connections deteriorate. Frame crossmembers rust. Wiring harness clips break and let harnesses rub against corroded metal. Wheel studs and lug nuts seize. Air line fittings develop leaks where salt accumulates around brass and steel connections.
If you run trucks in Chicago year round, your maintenance intervals need to account for salt damage. Components that last five years in a southern market may last two or three here. Our mobile diesel mechanics know what to look for and where the salt damage hides.
Intermodal and Distribution Center Service
The intermodal yards on the South Side and in the southwest suburbs generate constant chassis and drayage truck work. Container chassis need lighting, tire, suspension, and twist lock attention. The drayage trucks pulling those chassis run short haul routes that are hard on engines and aftertreatment systems. And the distribution centers along the I-55 and I-294 corridors keep delivery trucks, reefer trailers, and fleet vehicles working around the clock.
We service trucks at the intermodal yards, at distribution center docks, and on the expressways when breakdowns happen in transit.
